PrintIT Sweden Orders a Freemelt ONE PBF-EB System

PrintIT Sweden has placed an order for a Freemelt ONE system, with planned delivery in the second quarter of 2026. The investment marks an important step in the company’s continued development of industrial electron beam powder bed fusion (PBF-EB) processes and applications for advanced materials and high-performance components.

The Freemelt ONE system will be used in development projects for industrial customers, with a focus on process and application development in areas where PBF-EB offers clear technical and commercial advantages. In parallel with the installation, PrintIT Sweden is establishing an PBF-EB service center in Sweden to support industrial partners with advanced additive manufacturing capabilities.

By combining industrial hands-on experience with a strong academic foundation, PrintIT Sweden aims to accelerate the industrial adoption of E-PBF in Sweden. The new platform will strengthen the company’s ability to support demanding development projects involving advanced materials, process optimization, and application-specific qualification work. This also creates a strong basis for future collaboration with Freemelt around the continued industrialization of the technology.

“Freemelt’s open PBF-EB technology gives us a flexible platform for advanced materials, an area where we see a rapidly growing demand. The open platform makes it quick to get started with new projects and supports the industry in its development,” says William Sjöström, CEO of PrintIT Sweden AB.

For PrintIT Sweden, the investment represents both an expansion of technical capability and an important step in building a long-term platform for industrial process and application development using PBF-EB.
