New world record presented in licentiate thesis

Mid Sweden University—a leading institution in technology and advanced manufacturing —has featured our CEO William Sjöström and his licentiate thesis.

William highlights new methods to create unique material properties through additive manufacturing. He is the first to melt ceramic materials via PBF-EB, introducing the possibility of melting ceramic powder at temperatures above 1600°C—a rare achievement in this field.

💬 “Ceramics often have significantly better mechanical properties than metals. This opens up possibilities to replace metals in many applications to improve efficiency, lifespan, and performance,” says William.
